This is our first blog post of what are many to come where we will share not only general marketing and lifestyle info, but also a series of tech blog posts with real world data. We are also starting our blog on the 246th anniversary of a famous declaration to launch the most innovative country in the world, this great United States of America. While our little company launch pales in comparison, we want to share our thinking on why we started a new RV company, our initial target customers and design goals, and finally our "declaration" to our customers, investors, and the market in general.
When we first started designing the AEONrv in August 2020 we knew we were not satisfied with current available products on the market. In our opinion quality was lacking and innovation seemed to move slowly. The more we dug in the more we were convinced there was an opportunity to take a fresh approach to not only the technology used to build an RV, but also the sales and support models. We won't deny that Tesla was an inspiration for some our thinking.
We formulated our initial vision, target customers and design goals to finalize our design and then started building the first AEONrv prototype in March 2021. We then officially launched the company in October 2021 and started taking sales deposits. Now nine months later we are very excited on the progress the company has made as we are building the first production units and have received very positive feedback from early customers and the market in general.
Thanks for all your support,
Jim Ritchie

Our overall vision is to deliver the freedom to explore the world comfortably, safely and with ease and we are building what we believe is the first true all-season, electric cabin, off-road capable, new and modern, 4-person recreational vehicle at a traditional RV price point to deliver on this vision.
Our Initial Target customers:
A couple seeking to explore the world full-time, a family wishing to enjoy time together camping, hiking, biking or skiing, anyone yearning for the freedom to work or go anywhere, anytime safely and in comfort.
Our Initial Design goals:
- Ability to travel on rough roads or in the snow without chains to get to the most fun and remote places
- High quality construction so things don’t break, yet easy serviceable if something does go wrong
- Modern design aesthetic, not your Father’s RV
- No need to carry other fuel besides the gas in the vehicle tank (no propane filling hassles)
- A bed that sleeps two comfortably and does not need to be made up each night
- Travel and sleep with 2 adults and 2 small kids comfortably and safely
- Provide dog and cat friendly features so they can travel with you
- Works all winter without having to worry about freezing pipes or winterizing
- No noisy generator required to use the air conditioning, microwave, hair dryer or other common electrical appliances
- Separation of the main sleeping and live/work spaces to allow for different people’s schedules
- A large fridge with separate freezer, and ample pantry space, to allow for healthy eating without frequent access to stores
- Plenty of clothes storage with some hanging space
- Enough water and power to boondock off-grid for at least a week
- A "private" bath with shower located as far as possible from the bed and no black water tank to dump
- Securely carry lots of wet and dirty gear (bikes, skis, BBQ, etc) inside a heated compartment that is separated from the main living space
- A vehicle that can still be used as a daily driver and parked in most standard parking spaces
- Enough electrical power and ergonomic space to allow for mobile, remote work
- All systems designed to be easily customized or enhanced by the user
- Take advantage of the latest software technology to allow for easy and remote management of all systems just like a Tesla
- Do all the above as efficiently as possible from both a cost and environmental impact viewpoint
Our Declaration
We take design, engineering, and most importantly customer service & support very seriously. We will do our best to make our customers happy and proud to own an AEONrv and we ask all of you to hold us accountable to this standard.
We are changing how recreational vehicles are built, delivered, and supported with the latest in technology advancements.
So where did the name AEONrv come from? Aeon is originally an old Greek word that meant "life", "vital force" or "age" in the sense of "ages", "forever", "timeless" or "for eternity" and it is commonly used for any long or indefinite time period and we wanted to build an RV that would "stand the test of time". Also, it made a great acronym for our designed use cases, and finally, if not most importantly, "aeonrv.com" was available to register!
