An all-electric cabin
The cabin runs on a 24V DC system with a 3,000VA Victron inverter/charger and a 50A 120V AC breaker panel, powering the induction cooktop, the refrigerator, the heat pump, and every outlet. The AEONrv carries a 5.12 kWh Victron lithium pack, the EXT carries 10.24 kWh, and both expand to 15.36 kWh.
The chassis stays gas. A 3.5L EcoBoost V6 means you refuel at any station and never plan a route around a charger.
Three ways to charge
The pack fills from the sun, from driving, or from shore power, so you are never dependent on any one of them.
800 W of rigid rooftop solar on the AEONrv, 1,200 W on the EXT, through a Victron 100/30 MPPT controller.
Two Victron Orion XS DC-DC chargers draw up to 1,400 W from the Transit's 250A alternator while you drive.
Plug in and the 3,000VA Victron inverter/charger recharges the pack at up to 70A.
Monitor and control all three from the Victron Cerbo GX 5" touchscreen, or from a phone, tablet, or browser.
Camp off-grid for a week
Whether you are in the mountains or desert-bound, AEONrv supports a week off-grid.
59 gallons fresh on the AEONrv, 70 on the EXT, with tank level sensors. An 8-gallon Isotemp marine hot water heater runs off engine coolant or a 750W element. Gray water is freeze protected and exterior mounted, 25 gallons on the AEONrv and 35 on the EXT.
A Clearsource two-stage system: a 5 micron coconut carbon block for sediment, chlorine, taste, and odor, then a 0.2 micron absolute second stage. Fill from campground taps and other treated water sources.
Solar and alternator charging cover cabin loads. No generator, no propane, no hookups. Cooking, heating, cooling, can all be done with electric power.
Built for all conditions
Insulated FRP walls, roof, and floor average R-15, with thermal transfer free construction and dual pane acrylic windows. That is a molded composite shell, not a converted metal box, and it is the reason the cabin holds temperature.
A 9K BTU mini-split with heat pump heats down to -13°F and runs at 26 to 37 dB. For deeper cold, the Espar Airtronic S3 B2L 2kW ducted gas heater takes over. It operates in outside temperatures down to -50°F, with an EasyStart Pro controller rated to 13,000 feet.
