Overall Summary
Off-road capability is standard, not an upgrade: Ford Intelligent AWD, a Van Compass 2-inch lift, BFGoodrich KO3 all-terrain tires, a steel skid plate, and rear recovery points are all included at $229,500. Materials match the mission: a fiberglass composite box at R-15 and a fully wood-free PET foam-core interior instead of framed laminate and wood cabinetry. And support comes factory-direct from the team that built the vehicle, backed by a 2-year coach warranty and a 10-year warranty on the entire box.
The value pick at $215,551, sharing AEONrv's Ford Transit AWD platform and 31-gallon fuel tank but with conventional 12V/propane/generator systems and R-7.6 walls. Best suited to buyers prioritizing price and dealer network over off-grid endurance.
At $250,014, already $20,500 above AEONrv, the Sprinter EKKO adds Mercedes cab refinement but still ships without a lift or upgraded suspension, and carries the same aluminum-framed construction, propane systems, and 1-year coach warranty. Off-road upgrades come on top of the highest price of the three.
Need More Room? Meet the AEONrv EXT
The all-new AEONrv EXT extends the platform by 18 inches on the Ford Transit AWD 178-inch chassis, adding true four-person sleeping, a larger convertible dinette, an expanded gear garage with room for up to four bikes, and deeper off-grid capacity. Against the Sprinter-based EKKO, the EXT costs $10,500 less while more than doubling the standard battery and solar.
Why "Winter Ready" Isn't Enough
The Winnebago Ekko is a popular choice for all-weather travel, but it relies on traditional manufacturing methods that create thermal bridges and energy loss.
At AEONrv, we didn't just tweak the standard RV formula, we reinvented it.
By using fiberglass reinforced panels, marine-grade technology, and aerospace adhesives, we eliminated the structural weaknesses found in mass-market competitors, resulting in an average insulation value of R-15.
After cancelling my Winnebago EKKO order due to all the design and quality control issues, I'm so glad to have found AEONrv. I wanted something with more space and better insulation than my current Revel. The AEONrv checks so many boxes vs. the EKKO, from the slightly shorter box, lower height, very efficient AC split, all electric with more lithium and no propane, a more modern interior design with appealing cabinets, a 3000W Victron inverter, 800W solar with a MPPT controller vs 455W with PWM, and the Total Composites box is a huge improvement over a heavier framed design.
I had a deposit down on an Ekko. I liked the size, but I was worried about the insulation reports. When I saw the AEONrv specs, specifically the thermal transfer data and the wiring quality, I cancelled my order. This is a completely different class of vehicle
The R-15 composite box makes the difference. We ran the heat pump off solar through a hard freeze and never touched a generator. Nothing to refill, nothing to winterize.
